GROoVAi are a trio combining cultures and influences from India, New Zealand and Australia, a team of tragic cricketers, but lovers of the groove!
The blend of tabla, guitar, double bass and vocals exploring the rhythms and sounds of blues, jazz, ragas and global groove based music is an intoxicating mix sure to get you moving. Ravi Singh on tablas is a player of international renown based in Brisbane and well known for his collabarative work in the multicultural music community. Ravi has worked on many recordings and brings a wealth of experience and feel to his percussion and vocal musings. Warwick Hargreaves on guitar/vocals and Tina Fullerton on double bass/vocals play as a duo in ‘Out of Abingdon’, they have toured internationally and are gaining notoriety in Australia for their dynamic festival performances and live gigs. Out of Abingdon have recently released their debut CD ‘Journeys’ to much acclaim and both Warwick and Tina are professional musicians who play in a number of different combinations.
GROoVai have come together with the aim of enjoying the universal language of music, to continue learning, sharing, playing and journeying…..

Racheal Leigh:
Racheal is the Dance Captain and Head Choreographer for SARI Bollywood Dance. She discovered a love and passion for Bollywood Dancing that she never had with any other dance style before. Within six months of intensive learning through dance classes and performances, Racheal was asked to teach a Beginners Bollywood dance class which led her to realise she loved teaching as much as she loved dancing.
Performance credits include IGA Kids Rhymes Festival, Bardon Mayfair, Crackerjack Carnival, Westpac Christmas Party, Jewel Of India Restaurant Flood Fundraiser Evening, India Independance Day Celebrations; River Rocks Festival and more.

BEMAC is proud to support one of the world’s most celebrated classic vocalists, Salar Aghili. Salar Aghili is set to tour Australia later this year. Persian communities across the country have welcomed the announcement that this highly acclaimed musician, who is recognized not only in Iran, but throughout Europe for his contribution to the rich heritage of Persian verse, is to begin his tour in Perth at the end of October. “We are thrilled that Salar has agreed to this national tour and encouraged by the positive feedback we’ve received from communities across the country,” said Al Sharifian of Far Vahar Entertainment.
A highlight of Salar Aghili’s 2011 Australian Tour is the accompaniment of Hossein Behroozinia, notably one of Iran’s most highly praised musician. Behroozinia is a Barbat (oud) virtuoso, recognized as one of just a handful in the world who has mastered the art of playing the Barbat. He has toured in USA, Canada and Europe on numerous occasions and performed in a number of unforgettable concerts with Mohammad Reza Shajarian, Shahram Nazeri, Sima Bina and Parissa, all of whom are famous Iranian vocalists. The tour kicks off in Perth on 30 October and will then move on to Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra for a final performance at the National Gallery of Australia on 12th November.
