The Sharing Stories project

Community engagement with the arts.

The Sharing Stories project will engage with women of Muslim backgrounds in a project that explores place, past and present for the participants; using storytelling and short story, poetry, drama and song to engage with Muslim women from across Brisbane City from a range of communities, including but not limited to Iranian, Afghani, Somali and Sudanese; in the creation of a lasting work which can be shared across Brisbane and Queensland.  The Sharing Stories project will use established artists to engage with the women to explore and document their “stories” and experiences, both before migration and since arriving in Australia.
