ENGAGE -Education, Training and Professional Development
Music Industry Development Program – With a core focus on increasing the capacity of Queensland’s culturally diverse artists and world musicians, this program offers a range of formats where musicians and emerging mangers can gain industry knowledge and practical skills which will increase their capacity to compete on the local, national and international stages, with focussed training provided in key aspects of the music industry. Drawing on our partnership with Q Music, together we provide artists and emerging managers access to top industry professionals, to learn about everything from publicity and publishing to labels and getting a manager. Along-side this industry training, BEMAC also run workshop with successful artists in song-writing, musicality and more….
In 2010-2011 BEMAC delievered the Music Industry Training Program to 3 Logan-based artists with the support of Logan City Council’s RADF funding. Spacifix, Thuggy K and Hectic Cadence spent and intensive week meeting all sorts of industry professionals, and finished the program with Bio’s, professional photo’s and business plans to help them on their way in the next stage of their career development.
Currently we have 3 streams available, Women In Arts and Music, individual training support and generic group sessions. Please see the calendar of events for more information on workshops and timing.
Go Pro - very similar to our music industry based program, Go Pro has its focus on the business development of dancers and world dance as an artform. BEMAC are currently working with AUSDANCE to define a range of programs which will soon be available.
